MA Management/PG Diploma

The MA Management/PG Diploma from The Westminster Business School seeks to provide aspiring and new front line, junior and middle managers with academic accreditation and learning experience which will develop them systematically for their management role.

The MA Management/PG Diploma is designed to promote the development of the general management skills and abilities required by managers operating in the current economic environment, including analysis, problem solving and proactive thinking. It will provide the underpinning knowledge and understanding required to operate effectively in a managerial role.

The MA Management/PG Diploma can be taken both part-time and full-time. The Diploma can be finished in 1 year full-time or in 2 years if taken part-time.

For entry to the MA Management/PG Diploma, these general requirements apply:

• You should have a first degree, or a professional qualification recognised to be of an equivalent standard to a degree, or equivalent work experience. If you do not have formal qualifications, but at least five years’ relevant work experience, you may also be considered for entry to the course at the discretion of the course leader.
• If English is not your first language, you will need an IELTS score of 6.5, with a minimum score of 6 in each element

For students opting to gain the MA:

The Research Methods module will develop your knowledge and competence in the research process and the application of research methods in the area of business and management. This module is completed in advance of the Project module.

The project module involves extensive research in a chosen topic. It will enable you to demonstrate your ability to work autonomously and to apply the theory learned during the programme to a substantial real life problem.

If you successfully complete four modules, you will gain the Postgraduate Certificate in Management, while if you complete six modules you will gain the Postgraduate Diploma in Management. To obtain the MA Management, you will have successfully completed the PG Diploma and will have completed three additional modules.

The course will enable you to develop knowledge and skills, interpersonal and transferable appropriate to general management at junior and middle level. It will foster critical evaluation of the roles and responsibilities of general management within changing economic, social, legal, ethical and political contexts.

Fees for the MA Management/PG Diploma are

• Full-time: Home fee: £6,960, overseas: £10,400
• Part-time: Home fee £3,488 (year fee), overseas fee £5,693 (year fee)
