The Edinburgh MBA covers all
the main management disciplines, and is broad in scope, insightful in content, whilst still offering real opportunities for
focus on specific specialist areas. It is an
intense programme designed to develop personal and career management
skills, which blends academic rigour with the
latest business thinking - and global economic developments
The programme has a number of key objectives which are to:
- give an understanding of the behaviour, form and performance of organisations
- develop the ability to appreciate strategic issues and to formulate long term policies
- provide a basic knowledge of a wide range of management issues and techniques plus a specialised knowledge in many functional areas
- provide a solid basis for continual skills development

The Edinburgh MBA has five fundamental components:
Foundation: A solid grounding in the core management disciplines and concepts.
Specialisation: The opportunity to explore specific subjects in more depth through our wide range of specialist courses.
Application: The ability to apply theory and practice to real life business challenges.
Integration: The development of cross-disciplinary skills through integrative projects.
Destination: Significant development of personal and communication skills, focusing on the progression of your chosen career.

You can study the Edinburgh MBA in a number of different ways, designed to best suit your needs and requirements including:

Suitability and application
The entry requirements on this MBA are a 1st class or a 2:1 Honours degree from a good university in any subject, or an appropriate professional qualification, plus at least three years’ continuous work experience in substantial positions.
If you have a lower class of degree than a 2:1 equivalent then professional qualifications with substantial work experience would also be considered. If you do not hold a degree or professional qualifications, you may still be considered if you have a very strong employment record demonstrating a high degree of responsibility.
Course Content
The Full-time MBA is an intensive one year programme that immerses you in a world of academic thought and current business practice, and is made up of several elements including:
- Nine foundation courses - which are the foundation upon which the whole MBA is built and ensures a common basis of knowledge across the different areas.
- Tailored studies towards your career interests, through the selection of your five option courses. Learning about strategy also becomes a central feature of the programme at this stage.
- Consultancy Project, through which you engage with a company to resolve a business issue of particular relevance and currency.
- MBA dissertation which brings all of the year’s learning together in a piece of work unique to each student, which should be viewed in light of your own future career plans.

The Edinburgh MBA is a leading internationally accredited and highly ranked programme. Available in four different variants the Edinburgh MBA offers a unique opportunity to study and develop at one of Europe's leading universities. We offer a range of management programmes.
There are four routes to the highly regarded Edinburgh MBA:
1. A 12 month Full-time MBA programme
2. A 15 month MBA in International Business
3. A 30 month Part-time MBA taught in the evenings
4. Up to 48 month Modular MBA
In addition, the School offers a range of other management development programmes, including the MBA+ programme allowing MBA graduate to undertake additional courses, and a variety of executive courses and research.
